The beautiful tree at the local mall. This is not what Christmas is all about, but it does symbolize the spirit of giving which is the basis of the Christian holiday.
My hope, as Christmas approaches, is that as presents and gifts fly back and forth this Christmas, the senders and receivers remember also to give the gifts of tolerance, love and concern for their fellow human beings, even when they don’t completely understand them.
Seems to me this is a pretty big deal these days.
There’s nothing quite so elegant as brand new, and this brand new Plus-15 opened up yesterday across MacLeod Trail – one of the busiest thoroughfares of my home town.
It’s a far superior way for this chicken to cross the road, that’s for sure.

I was at the Christmas Market yesterday – an annual event put on at Spruce Meadows in my home town. It was very pleasant and very impressive.
I’m not exactly sure why, but stairways to me are an excellent photographic subject. Perhaps it’s the symmetry, or the focus, or the way they draw the eye to a point. Or, perhaps it’s just the sense I have with stairways of ‘getting somewhere’, of progress.
